Ginger Coleman
Ginger Coleman, RN, Instructor, Executive Director
Ginger Coleman, Executive Director, has over 30 years of experience in Missouri healthcare. She started her nursing career as a Certified Nurse Assistant and went on to become certified in Phlebotomy and Pharmacology in the allied healthcare field. In 1998, Ginger earned her undergraduate degree in Nursing from Penn Valley Community College and expanded her expertise to include oncology, gastrointestinal, and geriatrics. Her experience as Director of Nurses in long-term care has provided a solid foundation for the courses she now teaches. Recognizing a chronic need for quality direct care, Ginger founded Medical Education Development and Support in 1999. Her vision and dedication to quality education now serves as the cornerstone in meeting the training needs in long-term care facilities.

Melanie Rodriguez, RN, Instructor
Melanie Rodriguez is one of the most dedicated CNA instructors in the State of Missouri. With over 20 years of experience, Melanie not only teaches her students basic nursing skills, but how to see the world through the eyes of the patient as well. Melanie is well known throughout the nursing community for setting high standards in patient care and for passing those standards on to her students.

Helyn Agee, RN, BSN, MSN, Instructor
Helyn Agee is one of the area’s most seasoned professionals. She has been in nursing for over 35 years and has taught nursing for 25 of those years. Helyn has earned her RN, BSN, and MSN. She is also an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner as well as a FENCE Certified Instructor. Helyn brings to the classroom many years of practical nursing experience that are enhanced by true life stories and situations.

David Brown
David Brown, RN, Instructor
David Brown started his nursing career in 1983. He started in long-term care as a CNA and has come full circle, returning to long-term care, now as an RN. In addition to long-term care, David also has experience with med-surg, rehab, telemetry and Emergency Room in the hospital setting. David obtained his LPN from KC Board of Education is 1989, and then went on to achieve his RN-ADN in 1995. Working with the elderly has always been a passion of David’s along with teaching others his skills and knowledge. David’s students find his true life stories to be interesting and educational and an added bonus to their class.

Mary Grace Sharbel, RN, BSN, M Ed,
Instructor, State Examination Director
With over 35 years of nursing and educational experience, Mary Grace Sharbel has contributed to Missouri and Kansas healthcare systems in a variety of administrative, clinical, and instructive roles. Mary has served both the private and public sectors of healthcare and is the State Examiner for MEDS. Mary holds graduate degrees in Nursing and Education and is the Director of Allied Health for the Kansas City Missouri School District. In 2002, Mary was nominated for “Who’s Who Among American Teachers” by a former student and maintains professional affiliations in Sigma Theta Beta Lambda Chapter, ACTE, MOSAHOE, AWHONN, Skills USA and AFT.
